Last week I got to brag on Google Voice, this week I’m on the Google praise team again. This time for their newest product, Google Wave. It’s pretty young, and technically still under development. Nevertheless, in the short few weeks that I’ve had it it’s been wonderful. I can see how it will easily revolutionize online communication.
I’m a bit limited in use right now due to lack of contacts, but as it opens up to everyone it will only get better. I won’t take time to go into every feature on here, but I’ll highlight a few key ones that I’ve gotten to use already.
-Real time communication: This feature gives an almost IM/chat feel to the Wave. You can view collaborators’ changes as they are making them
-Wave: A Wave is the email of the 21st century. Rather than a string of messages sent back and forth, a conversation can be viewed as a single entity. This also allows for anyone to be added to the Wave at a later date and see the whole conversation.
-Open source/API: I’m no techie, but there are plenty of them out there. Google has made it easy for anyone that has the ability to make gadgets for the Wave, much like Apple has with the iPhone apps. Currently I only have used the Y/N/Maybe plugin. Allows for easy RSVP for an event.
This is just the beginning of something big. I predict that in a few years we’ll wonder how we got by with that clunky old thing called email. It sounds funny to most of the people I tell that “Email is kinda old fashioned.” Meet the future. Google Wave.
PS BTW- As of right now I have 5 Google Wave invites. It’s not open to the public yet, so an invite from an existing user is the only way to get it. Hit me up via one of the communication methods in the sidebar. I’ll need you email address so I can send you the invite.

sounds great. send me your email and I'll hook you up with an account. just keep me updated on the latest gadgets youmight be developing.

I got it, and I agree a lack of contacts makes it difficult to use. I think Google Wave will be good, but they're going to have to get busy teaching people how to use it!
Please!!!

My husband is the geek, but I'm learning as fast as I can! Please send an invite so I can do more than watch the video and read about the WAVE?
