Last week my friend Alvin died. His short life made a huge impression on me and our friends that would take a whole book to describe. We agreed that he set the bar high, a stellar example of a Christian walk towards which we all should strive.
I want to give yall one snippet from the funeral service, a line from Alvin, and a challenge to all of us. “Whatever it takes.” He told his pastor he wanted to do whatever it took to see his friends and family come to Christ. At the funeral, ten of those people did.
Alvin lived 21 years. It is not uncommon for us to ask why. Why was a life cut so short. We want a reason. Often we never get that reason. This weekend we got ten. Ten more souls that will be in heaven. Alvin would have laid down his life for one, but today he is leading the angels in rejoicing over these ten.
Challenge: Are you willing to do “Whatever it takes” ? I honestly don’t know if I can say that I am, but I’m making it my prayer that I can be.

and 4 more were saved on sunday
wow. ten people?? did not know that. We all knew that God would use Alvin's story and that there was God's plan through all of this even though it is so hard to accept that he is gone. God is truely amazing and I am sure Alvin is rejoicing with all of us over these ten. What a blessing!
Dude wow, I'm sorry he died, and I'm glad that God used it! praise Him.
